About Huyen Tran
"Hello and welcome!"
I embarked on my journey in the legal field with a Bachelor's Degree in Law, Sociology, and Anthropology from Carleton University in 1994. My passion for legal studies led me to the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Common Law, where I graduated.

After earning my Law degree, I continued my academic pursuits at Osgoode Hall Law School, obtaining my Master of Laws in 2015. I proudly joined the Bar in Saskatchewan in October 2016 and am an active member of organizations including The Law Society of Ontario, Defense Counsel Association of Ottawa, and Child Protection Defense Association of Ottawa.
My journey in law is complemented by a rich background in social services. Prior to law school, I dedicated seven years as an Ongoing Child Protection Worker at the Children’s Aid Society of Ottawa. Additionally, I spent another seven years at Immigrant Women Services as a Crisis Counsellor for abused women, offering support and guidance during challenging times.

Community engagement is at the core of my values. Over the years, I've volunteered for various organizations, including the Catholic Family Service Centre, New Directions program, and Victim Assistance Services of Ottawa-Carleton. Serving as a Board Member for the National Capital Region YMCA has been a recent highlight of my commitment to community service.

Beyond my legal pursuits, I am an avid painter. I've happily donated many of my paintings to raise funds for causes close to my heart, including the YMCA, shelters for abused women, and Immigrant Women Services.
